Editing Layers
The sounds in Backbone are made up of up to eight layers. Each layer contributes a specific detail of the sound, for example, the tonal and noise components of a drum sound. You can adjust and modify the sound of each layer extensively in the edit section.
Edit Section
In the Edit section, you can edit the layers.
Sample Page
The Sample page shows the sample waveform and allows you to play back and edit the sample.
Modulating the Playback Start Using Velocity
You can use the markers on the Sample page to modulate the sample playback start using velocity. For example, this allows you to make samples more percussive for higher velocities, by playing the attack transient only with higher velocities.

Procedure

Drag the Sample Start Range marker to the position from which you want the sample to be played at the lowest velocity.

By default, the Sample Start Range marker is at the position of the sample start marker.
Drag the Sample Start Velocity Range marker to the position from which you want the sample to be played at the maximum velocity.
