Creating grace note runs for percussion kits
You can create runs of consecutive grace notes for different instruments in percussion kits; for example, to indicate a short drum fill.
Procedure
-
In Write mode, input the grace notes that you require for each instrument in the percussion kit.
Note
-
When percussion kits use the grid or five-line staff presentation types, grace notes at the same rhythmic position appear as a chord by default.
-
We recommend creating grace note runs by starting from the end of the run and working backwards.
-
-
Select the grace note that you want to be the penultimate note in the run.
-
Press Alt/Opt-Left Arrow once.
- Select the grace note that you want to appear to the left of the previous note.
-
Press Alt/Opt-Left Arrow twice.
-
Optional: Repeat steps 4 to 5 as many time as required for the number of grace notes in your run.
Note
You must increase the number of Alt/Opt-Left Arrow presses by 1 each time.
Result
The grace notes at the selected rhythmic position are spread out and appear as a run. This affects both the grid and five-line staff presentation types.
