Engrave mode
Engrave mode allows you to manipulate and modify every item in your project, but without deleting them, moving them rhythmically, or changing the pitch of notes. You can also determine how the pages in each layout of your project are formatted for printing or exporting.
Page templates
Page templates in Dorico Pro allow you to achieve consistent page formatting by applying the same arrangements of frames to multiple pages and in different layouts.
Page format changes
Page format changes are changes to the format or design of specific pages in individual layouts, as determined by the page template set, that do not affect the underlying page templates. For example, making a frame smaller on a single page in a part layout, or changing the page numbers from a selected page onwards.
Swapping pages
You can swap page format changes between adjacent pages; for example, if you have assigned page template and flow heading changes to page 4, but due to casting off changes, those page format changes need to be on page 5.

Procedure

In Engrave mode, open the layout in which you want to swap pages.
In the Pages section of the Pages panel, select the pages whose page format changes you want to swap with other pages.
Swap the page format changes on selected pages with other pages in any of the following ways:
- In the action bar, click Swap with Previous Page .
- In the action bar, click Swap with Next Page .

Result

All page format changes on the selected pages are moved to the previous or next pages within the sequence of pages in the layout.
