Time signatures
Time signatures indicate the meter of music, and apply to all bars from where they first appear until a subsequent change of time signature. Meter describes the rhythmic pulse of music, and its division into beats and bars.
Time signature styles
Dorico Elements allows you to show time signatures in a variety of styles. For example, you can show denominators as a number or as a note value.
Combining aggregate time signatures
You can combine aggregate time signatures with the same denominator into a single time signature, while retaining dashed barlines for meter divisions. For example, to show a 4/8+2/8+7/8 aggregate time signature as 13/8.

Prerequisite

The lower zone is shown.
Properties is selected in the lower zone toolbar.
If you are in Engrave mode, Graphic Editing is selected in the Engrave toolbox.

Procedure

Select the aggregate time signatures that you want to combine. You can do this in Write mode and Engrave mode.
In the Properties panel, activate Combine compatible aggregates in the Time Signatures group.
Activate the corresponding checkbox.

Result

The selected aggregate time signatures are combined into a single time signature, provided that all denominators in each aggregate time signature are the same.

The combined numerator indicates the total number of denominator beats in each bar.
