Play mode
Play mode allows you to change how your music sounds in playback, including by adjusting the mix, changing the playback template, and assigning VST instruments.
Playhead
The playhead is a vertical line that moves during playback, showing the current rhythmic position. It is also known as a playback line.
Enabling/Disabling playhead following
You can enable/disable views to follow the playhead during playback in each project window independently; for example, if you want keep a specific system in view while listening to your music.

You can enable/disable views to follow the playhead during playback in each project window independently; for example, if you want keep a specific system in view while listening to your music.

Procedure

In the status bar, activate/deactivate Follow playhead.

Result

Playhead following during playback is enabled when Follow playhead is activated, and disabled when it is deactivated.

Tip

You can change whether playhead following is enabled/disabled by default in all projects in Preferences > Play > Playhead.
You can assign a key command for Toggle Follow Playhead on the Key Commands page in Preferences.
