You can copy and paste an audio file or a section of an audio file from the wave window to the montage window to insert it into the audio montage.

Procedure

In the wave window of the Audio Editor, select the audio section to which you want the clip to refer to.
Select the Edit tab and click Copy, or press Ctrl/Cmd-C.
In the montage window, select the track where you want to insert the clip.

The clip insert position is indicated by the edit cursor.
Select the Edit tab and click Paste, or press Ctrl/Cmd-V.
Select an insert option from the pop-up menu.

A clip is created, named after the original file.
