You can copy and paste an audio file from the File Explorer/macOS Finder to the montage window to insert it into the audio montage.

Procedure

In the File Explorer/macOS Finder, select an audio file and press Ctrl/Cmd-C.
In the montage window, set the edit cursor at the position where you want to insert the clip.
Select the Edit tab and click Paste, or press Ctrl/Cmd-V.
Select an insert option from the pop-up menu.

A clip is created, named after the original file.
