Adding Key Commands

You can add key commands in the Key Commands dialog.

Procedure

  1. Select File > Key Commands.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the Commands list, click the plus sign to open a category folder, and select the function to which you want to assign a key command.

    • In the search field, enter the name of the function to which you want to assign a key command.

Assigned key commands are shown in the Keys column as well as in the Keys section to the right.

  3. Click the Type in Key field and press the keys you want to use as a key command.

You can press individual keys or a combination of one or several modifier keys (Alt, Ctrl/Cmd, Shift) plus any key.

  4. Click Assign.

The key command is shown in the Keys section.

  5. Click OK.
    Note

You can set up several different key commands for the same function. Adding a key command to a function that already has another key command will not replace the key command previously defined for the function.
