Metering and Loudness
Nuendo provides a master meter that works as a multi-channel true peak meter, and a loudness meter that allows you to measure the loudness in compliance with the loudness recommendation R 128 of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Loudness Track
The loudness track allows you to record the loudness of your whole project or of specific sections.
Measuring Short-Term Loudness Offline
You can record and display the short-term loudness for a defined section only on the loudness track using offline analysis.

Procedure

Select Project > Add Track > Loudness.

The loudness track is added to the track list. The EBU 128 reference loudness level of -23 LUFS (0 LU) is displayed as a horizontal line in the event display.
Set up the left and right locators to encompass the section that you want to analyze.
In the track list for the loudness track, activate Activate Loudness Calculation.

Click Quick Analysis.

The loudness curve is created for the defined section and displayed on the loudness track.
