Acoustic Agent Mixer

The Agent mixer for Acoustic Agent kits allows you to perform the mixing of these kits.

The drum kits for Acoustic Agent were recorded with multiple microphones. The Agent mixer contains a channel strip for each microphone, as well as a dedicated group channel for each of the different drums used in the kit.

The left section of the mixer gives you access to all recorded microphones for the different drums and to the group channels. Group channels are applied to the sum of all microphone channels of a particular drum instrument.

In the top right corner of the Agent mixer, you can find the global Mute and Solo buttons.

  • To reset all Mute buttons of the Agent mixer, click the global Mute button.

  • To reset all Solo buttons of the Agent mixer, click the global Solo button.

Groups

If the Groups tab is active, the Agent mixer shows one channel strip for each drum instrument.

  • To make settings for all instruments of a group simultaneously, select the Group tab.

Studio Kit/Rock Kit/Vintage Kit

If you are using a kit from the “Studio Kit”, “Rock Kit”, or “Vintage Kit” content sets, the Kick/SN/HH (kick, snare, hihat), Toms, Cymbals, and Percussion tabs display separate channel strips for the close microphone channels for the selected instrument.

Kick and snare drum were recorded with two microphones: kick main and additional, and snare top and bottom. The other instruments were recorded with a single close microphone.

The Kit

Except for the cymbals, the instruments in the “The Kit” content were recorded with close microphones. Kick and snare drum were recorded with two microphones: kick in and out, and snare top and bottom. Hihat and toms were recorded with a single close microphone.

Note

The cymbals were recorded on the Room and Overhead microphone channels.

Room and Overhead Microphones

The Room/OH tab contains channels for the room and the overhead microphones.

If you are using a kit from the “The Kit” content set, the following applies:

The room channel is recorded using a compressed pressure zone microphone (PZM). You can deactivate the Room channel with the button below the Mute button. This reduces the processor load.

Furthermore, you can choose between several overhead microphones that were recorded with different setups.

REV/MIX

The REV/MIX tab contains channel strips for the Reverb channel and the Kit Mix channel.

The Reverb channel strip allows you to add room character to the mix.

For the Kit Mix output channel, you can add a Tube Saturator effect.

  • To activate the Tube Saturator effect, click its On/Off button.

  • To change the effect sound, adjust the Drive parameter.
